Terms of service
The agreement between you and us when you use Cookie Copilot. We’ve kept it as short and plain as we can.
Last updated 30 October 2026
1. Who this agreement is between
These terms are between Parachute Digital Solutions Limited (“we”, “us”), a company registered in Scotland (number SC449352) at 27 Woodside Place, Glasgow, G3 7QL, and the business or organisation that signs up (“you”). By creating an account you agree to them on behalf of that business.
Cookie Copilot is for businesses and other organisations. It isn’t sold to consumers.
2. The service
Cookie Copilot provides a cookie consent banner for your websites, sets up Google Consent Mode, optionally installs the banner through your Google Tag Manager container, and records the choices your visitors make. We may improve or change features over time. We won’t remove a core feature of your plan during a period you’ve paid for.
3. Your account
- Keep your login details safe, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used them.
- You’re responsible for what happens in your account, including by people you invite.
- Only add websites you own or have permission to manage.
4. Plans, trials and payment
- The Free plan is free for as long as we offer it.
- Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance, in pounds, through Stripe. Prices are shown on our pricing page and exclude VAT, which is added where it applies.
- Each organisation can have one 14-day free trial of a paid plan. We take a card at the start and charge it when the trial ends unless you cancel first.
- If you upgrade, the change takes effect immediately and you pay the difference for the rest of the billing period.
- Each plan includes a number of websites, team members and monthly pageviews. If you regularly go over, we’ll ask you to move to a plan that fits. We won’t switch off your banner without warning.
- If a payment fails, we’ll try again and let you know. If it still hasn’t been paid after 14 days, we may move your account to the Free plan.
- We’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice of any price change, and it will apply from your next renewal.
5. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from the Billing page in your dashboard. Your plan continues until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then moves to Free. We don’t refund part-used periods, except where the law requires it. You can download your consent records before you cancel.
6. Your responsibilities
You decide how cookies and similar technologies are used on your websites, and you’re responsible for complying with the law, including PECR and UK GDPR. Cookie Copilot is a tool to help you do that; it isn’t legal advice. In particular, you’re responsible for:
- putting each script and tag in the right consent category
- the wording of your banner and your cookie and privacy policies
- reviewing the changes we suggest to your Tag Manager container before you publish them
You mustn’t use Cookie Copilot to break the law, to attack or overload any system, or to try to get around how the service limits use.
7. Data protection
When we record your visitors’ choices, we do so as your processor. Our data processing agreement forms part of these terms. How we handle your own account data is set out in our privacy policy.
8. Availability
We work hard to keep Cookie Copilot running, but we can’t promise it will never be interrupted. If the service is unavailable, your banner may not load. We’ll tell you about planned maintenance that could affect it.
9. Intellectual property
We own Cookie Copilot, including the banner code. While your account is open you may use the banner on your websites. You own your content, your settings and your consent records, and you give us permission to use them only to provide the service.
10. Liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
- We aren’t liable for loss of profit, revenue, business or goodwill, or for indirect or consequential loss.
- We aren’t liable for fines or claims arising from how you’ve configured your websites, banners or tags.
- Otherwise, our total liability in any 12 months is limited to the amount you paid us in those 12 months, or £100 if that is more.
11. Suspending or ending the service
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after giving you notice and a chance to fix the problem where that’s reasonable. If we ever stop offering Cookie Copilot, we’ll give you at least 60 days’ notice, refund any period you’ve paid for but won’t use, and let you download your records.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll email you at least 30 days before a material change takes effect. If you don’t agree to it, you can cancel before it does.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
