Cookies on Hartley’s Bakery
We’d like to use optional cookies to understand how you use our site and to show you relevant adverts. You can change your mind at any time.
Try it: make a choice on the example site to see the record and signals it creates.
Until the visitor chooses, Google’s tags are told to store nothing.

Enter your website
We look at your homepage and list the trackers we find, such as Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or Hotjar, and any cookie banner you already use.
Connect Google Tag Manager
Sign in with Google and pick your container. We show you every tag we’ll add or change, and nothing is published until you say so.
Publish
Your banner goes live, Consent Mode v2 is set up and every visitor’s choice is recorded. Most sites are done in a few minutes.
Not using Google Tag Manager?
Paste one line at the top of your site’s head. Shopify, Squarespace, Wix and WordPress all have a place for it.
<script src="https://app.cookiecopilot.com/s/your-site.js"></script>Everything the ICO asks for. Nothing to think about.
The rules are specific: no optional cookies before consent, a real choice, and a record you can show if someone complains. Cookie Copilot handles all three.
- A banner you can style without code
- Change colours, wording, position and corner radius, and watch the preview update as you go. We warn you if your colours fail contrast checks.
- Google Consent Mode v2, done properly
- Defaults are set to denied before any tag fires, then updated the moment a visitor chooses. Google Ads and GA4 keep working within the rules.
- Scripts wait for permission
- Analytics and marketing tags only run once a visitor has said yes. YouTube and other embeds stay blocked until the right category is allowed.
- Accessible to everyone
- Keyboard and screen reader friendly, works in high-contrast mode and with large text, and is tested with axe-core on every release.
- Rejecting is as easy as accepting
- “Reject all” sits next to “Accept all” on the first screen, with equal weight. Optional categories start switched off, as the ICO expects.
- Built for agencies
- Group sites by client, invite your clients to see their own sites and nothing else, and manage every banner from one account.
On the way
- Cookie scanner and automatic cookie declaration
- Automatic blocking of known trackers without tagging
- WordPress plugin
- Consent statistics
Fair prices, in pounds.
Every plan includes the banner, Consent Mode v2, Tag Manager setup and a consent log. Bigger plans add traffic, sites and people.

Scripts tagged with data-cookieconsent are understood as they are. You swap one script tag and leave the rest alone.
Your tags are reviewed before anything changes
In Google Tag Manager we list each tag, the consent it will need and what will change, then publish only when you confirm.
Questions people ask.
Anything else? Email us and a person will reply.
Do I need a cookie banner in the UK?
If your site sets cookies that aren’t strictly necessary, such as analytics or advertising cookies, PECR says you need visitors’ consent first. A banner is how you ask for it and record the answer.
What is Google Consent Mode v2 and do I need it?
It’s how Google’s tags learn whether a visitor has agreed to analytics and advertising. If you use Google Ads or GA4 with UK or EU visitors, Google requires it for features like remarketing and conversion modelling. Cookie Copilot sets it up for you.
Do I have to edit my website’s code?
Not if you use Google Tag Manager. Connect it and we add the banner for you. Otherwise you paste one line into your site’s head, which most website builders let you do from their settings.
What do you do with my Google account access?
We ask only for permission to edit and publish Tag Manager containers. The access token lasts about an hour, stays in an encrypted cookie in your browser and is never saved on our servers.
How long are consent records kept?
24 months by default. The banner asks visitors again after 12 months, so this covers the life of each consent plus time to deal with any complaint.
What counts as a pageview?
Each time a page loads the banner script. If you go over your plan’s limit, the banner keeps working while you decide whether to upgrade.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Monthly plans stop at the end of the month and you can download your consent records before you go.
